Goddess is officially going into production!
HOW WE GOT HERE
I started writing lyrics when I was a teenager, but somewhere along the way, that part of my creativity got tucked away as I focused on writing novels.
Now, I am writing a book about a pop star named Nicci Price.
When I began Nicci's story, I knew I wanted to use song titles as chapter titles. However, I couldn't find any songs that worked for the story I wanted to write for her. So, I found myself digging out my old lyrics to update them and use them as Nicci's songs. And somewhere between creating her music and telling her story, I rediscovered just how much I loved writing lyrics.
Then something unexpected happened.
The songs stopped feeling like they belonged only on the pages of a book.
Now I'm working with musician Ariel Bellvalaire and producer Patrick to take one of those songs all the way from lyrics and a musical vision to a professionally produced recording—with Ariel stepping behind the mic as the voice of Nicci Price.
And we're starting with Goddess.
